Electric Mule Issue 001

Electric Mule was a magazine focused on connecting Northeastern Pennsylvania’s working class through stories, events, and practical advice to build a stronger, united community. In Electric Mule’s sole printed issue, we featured various artists from the NEPA region and created multiple feature stories, including DIY HRT: Knowledge, Resources, and Resistance, and How To Wrap Your Windows: A Simple, Cost Effective Guide.

In creating Issue 001, my approach to art direction consisted of designing a functional, single color logo that contained both texture and character, helping define our stylistic approach to working class communities through grunge, blackletter, and various textures such as denim, metal fencing, barbed wire, and marker strokes.
